As part of efforts to enhance security and safety, the General Directorate of Civil Defence is organising awareness workshops on safety guidelines in emergency and exceptional situations for members of various educational institutions and bodies in the country. The workshops are held at the Officers’ Club over four days, with the participation of about 1,200 school principals and their deputies, along with male and female security and safety officials from public and private educational institutions. The workshops cover safety and precautionary evacuation guidelines for emergencies and exceptional circumstances, serving as a complementary reference to traditional evacuation procedures. They aim to unify response procedures for alerts from the national warning system and to organise evacuation or sheltering operations to ensure the safety of students, educational and administrative staff. The workshops also review the level of preventative preparedness, mechanisms for dealing with the national alert system, and the roles of safety officials.Â
