The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has issued several guidelines to overcome heat illness at work places. An infograph published on MoPH social media says that outdoor and indoor heat exposure can be dangerous and suggests several first aid measures.
Abnormal thinking or behaviour, slurred speech, seizures and loss of consciousness for any worker are the signs of a medical emergency and in that situation people should straight away call 999. They may also cool the worker immediately with water or ice and stay with the worker until help arrives. The advisory also states that if a worker experiences headache or nausea, give water to drink. If people suffer from weakness or dizziness, remove unnecessary clothing. In case of heavy sweating or hot, dry skin, move to a cooler area. When people are found with elevated body temperature, cool them with with water, ice or a fan.
