QPO to perform on Saturday at Katara-The Cultural Village Opera House

Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) concert, Northern European Impressions, will be held on Saturday at Katara-The Cultural Village Opera House at 7.30pm. The programme includes Jean Sibelius’ most enduring work 'Finlandia' the symbol of ending struggle for nationhood, in addition to the universal favourites with its bright and cheery character 'Peer Gynt, Suite No 1' by Edvard Grieg, a QPO statement said. The concert ends with the romantic and memorable melodies of Sibelius’ Symphony No.2. The conductor is Elias Grandy, who enjoys an international career that encompasses opera and symphony concerts. Currently in his 6th season as music director of the Opera and Philharmonic Orchestra Heidelberg, Grandy has continued to grow the city’s artistic reputation as one of Germany’s most fascinating centres for symphonic music and opera.
