Qatar participates in side event on technology adaptation, economic empowerment for persons with disability

Qatar has taken part in a side event on Disability in Pandemics and Crises: Technology Adaptation and Economic Empowerment.

The event was organised by the Arab League General Secretariat on the sidelines of 15th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD).The event took place at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York.HE the Minister of Social Development and Family Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad led Qatar's delegation to the meeting.The meeting dealt with enhancing the interdependence and mutual influence between the Internet and assistive technology for people with disabilities, and related topics, in addition to discussing ways to empower people with disabilities economically.The meeting's agenda included the support of the Arab Group for Qatar’s efforts in organising the second workshop of the League of Arab States on efforts to develop and adopt a unified Arab classification of disabilities, which is scheduled to be held on June 27-28 this year.This would be the first event of its kind worldwide.
