Abandoned cars e-auction nets QR1.97mn on day one

The sixth edition of the electronic auction of abandoned cars on its first day witnessed the sale of 235 cars for a total of QR 1,962,550, an official said. Hamad Sultan al-Shahwani, head of the general control section at Doha Municipality and the committee to remove abandoned vehicles, told local Arabic daily Arrayah that there are five rounds. The two-day auction was conducted through the Mzad Qatar application.
The first round featured 46 cars for a total of QR 341,950 while 48 cars were sold for QR 334,300 during the second round. The third and fourth rounds saw 47 and 48 cars sold, respectively, for QR 576,000 and QR 416,900. The fifth round recorded QR 293,400 after 46 cars were sold.
