IAEA honours Qatar for generous contributions to financing projects

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) honoured Qatar for its generous contributions to the financing of the agency's projects, including the laboratories in Seibersdorf, located on the outskirts of the Austrian capital Vienna. In his speech during the honouring ceremony held at the agency's headquarters in Vienna, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi expressed his gratitude for Qatar's support of the agency's projects, including the renovation of the Seibersdorf laboratories. Grossi said that Qatar was among the first eight countries that contributed to financing the second phase of the agency's laboratories renewal project. Other countries included Australia, Nigeria, Kuwait, Slovenia, Slovakia, the US, and Mexico.The IAEA Director General also referred to Qatar's donation in the first phase of the laboratories' renovations and considered the last donation as a second contribution to financing the second and final phase of the agency's laboratories renewal project.

During the ceremony, the names of the member states that contributed to financing the second phase of the renovation of the IAEA laboratories in Seibersdorf were placed on the honouring wall. The honouring ceremony was attended by a number of heads of diplomatic missions accredited to the agency and the ambassadors and representatives of the countries that were honored. (QNA)
