The Forum and Encyclopedia of Qatari Achievements (2021) was held on Sunday, documenting a number of achievements the country is witnessing in various sectors.
Organised by the Dar Al Sharq Media Group annually, the event saw participation of a number of representatives of government and private agencies and institutions.Qatar Chamber chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohammed al-Thani and Dar Al Sharq executive vice president Jaber Salem al-Harami launched an illustrated encylopaedia of projects and achievements completed during the period prior to 2021 and announced the future plans of the participating parties.HE Sheikh Khalifa honoured more than 20 partners and sponsors from ministries, companies, institutions and people who participated in bringing out the making the event, which is the publication of the new Dar Al Sharq illustrated documentary encyclopedia for 2021.In a speech on this occasion, Hamad al-Hajri, Director of the Programmes and Education Department of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), said that the Committee has achieved many successes and achievements during its course since 2002, as it sought to be up to the challenge for which it was established.He pointed out that after eight years of its establishment, i.e. in 2010, and thanks to great efforts, the Committee obtained the (A) classification that national human rights institutions enjoy with transparency, credibility and independence, to be the first Gulf human rights institution to obtain this classification, which is re-accredited every five Years.Al-Hajri stated that the NHRC maintained this classification for fifteen years until 2025, which confirmed that obtaining this classification was based on efforts based on preservation and commitment to the principles that regulate the work of national human rights institutions, which are known as the Paris Principles. The NHRC won the confidence of the regional and international family by assuming many positions. Such as the presidency of the Arab Network in its current session 2022, and the position of Vice President and Secretary General of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions from 2018 to March 2022. Her Excellency Maryam bint Abdullah al-Attiyah, Chairperson of the Committee, currently holds the presidency of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions, which includes 127 national institutions from around the world with its four networks (European, American, African and Asian).He added, "We have announced the opening of 7 of the eight stadiums, and the opening of the largest Lusail Stadium will be in the coming weeks."At the end of the event, a discussion session was organized entitled “Achievements, Projects and Successes” that dealt with the national achievements in the State of Qatar during the past period. Their documentation falls under the concept of sustainable development to implement Qatar Vision 2030 through development projects. Hence the comprehensive renaissance witnessed by the country at the local and international levels, and documenting the achievements of Completed projects and discussed future plans.
