The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) organized Tuesday a specialized workshop titled "National Air Transport Facilitation Program", with the participation of several representatives from relevant entities, at the Qatar Air Traffic Control Centre. The workshop aimed to introduce the international requirements, Annex 9 to the Chicago Convention, and the key elements of the National Air Transport Facilitation Program, as well as to enhance coordination and integration among the relevant entities and prepare for the next phase of the Program's implementation, in support of applying best practices in the field of facilitation. Several key topics were addressed, most notably a review of the approved final version of the 2026 National Air Transport Facilitation Program and the roles and responsibilities assigned to the relevant entities involved in its implementation, as well as mechanisms for coordination and integration among them. The legal and regulatory framework supporting the implementation of the Program was also reviewed, along with implementation plans and related implementation and performance indicators, with a view to enhancing the readiness of the relevant entities for the next phase. The organization of this workshop reflects QCAA's commitment to strengthening cooperation among relevant entities and supporting the development of the air transport facilitation framework in accordance with international best practices and standards in the aviation sector.
