Kosovo president offers investment opportunities to Qatari businessmen

Kosov’s president, Dr Vjosa Osmani, is encouraging Qatari businessmen to explore the investment opportunities being offered by the Southeast European nation.Osmani made the statement during a meeting with Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani held on the sidelines of the Doha Forum yesterday. The meeting was attended by Qatar Chamber first vice chairman Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari and other board members, as well as a delegation from Kosovo.The meeting reviewed bilateral relations at the commercial and economic levels and means to enhance them, as well as the role played by both countries’ investment climate and opportunities on the private sector and the development of trade between both sides.Osmani praised the strong relations between both countries, noting that she is looking forward to bringing these relations to higher levels, especially in the commercial and investment aspects.She invited Qatari businessmen to explore investment opportunities in different sectors, such as agriculture, mining, and energy, among others. Osmani said Kosovo is seeking to attract Qatari investors for the establishment of investments that would generate jobs for Kosovo’s citizens.Sheikh Khalifa paid tribute to the good relations between Qatar and Kosovo, noting that commercial relations are still below the aspirations of both friendly countries. He also called on businessmen from both countries to boost co-operation in light of the wide range of opportunities available in both countries.He stressed that Qatar Chamber strongly supports co-operation between business sectors in both countries. “Qatari investors are interested to get acquainted with the opportunities available in Kosovo,” he added.
