Generation Amazing Foundation to welcome Club Deportivo Palestino to Doha for cultural and football exchange

Generation Amazing Foundation (GA) will host Chilean football club, Club Deportivo Palestino (CDP), in Doha this December for a week of cultural and sport-based exchange programming as part of the Qatar–Chile 2025 Year of Culture.Years of Culture Latin American Advisor and Qatar’s former ambassador to Mexico, HE Mohammed al-Kuwari said: "Club Deportivo Palestino embodies a story of heritage, identity, and resilience that resonates deeply across continents. Their visit to Doha will inspire young people, celebrate diversity, and strengthen celebrate the strong ties between Qatar, Chile, and Palestine.”The initiative reflects GA’s commitment to leveraging football as a platform for cultural understanding, social inclusion, and community empowerment, while strengthening the sporting and cultural ties between Qatar and Chile. The exchange will also highlight the role of football in uniting displaced and diaspora communities, with a special focus on engaging Palestinian residents in Qatar.
Founded in 1920 by Palestinian immigrants in Santiago, CDP is one of Chile’s most iconic football clubs and a source of pride for the global Arab diaspora. The club is recognised for its strong support of women’s football, community outreach, and for serving as a living link between Latin America and the Middle East.Planned activities during the Doha visit include: friendly matches; community engagement, which include a visit to the Gaza residential compound to meet with residents, featuring joint football workshops led by Generation Amazing–trained Palestinian community coaches; school visit, cultural engagement, and film screening, which features ‘Chasing Dreams’, a documentary series following Syrian refugee youth in Brazil pursuing football careers.GA Foundation’s executive director Nasser al-Khori said: "By welcoming Club Deportivo Palestino to Doha, we not only celebrate the club’s Palestinian heritage and Chilean identity but also create new opportunities for youth and communities in Qatar to experience the power of cultural exchange."Furthermore, under this initiative, our collaboration with the Qatar Stars League not only highlights football’s unifying power but also showcases Qatar’s rich sporting history and embodies GA’s ongoing commitment to harness football as a force for positive social impact.”Through this partnership, GA continues to expand its global legacy of youth empowerment, cultural diplomacy, and shared values through sport, reinforcing Qatar’s role as a hub for dialogue and social development.
