CNN unveils first speakers for Global Perspectives Doha edition
CNN has announced the first tranche of speakers for the inaugural Middle East chapter of its Global Perspectives events franchise, to be held in Doha on October 29, bringing together political leaders, business chiefs, innovators and cultural figures for a one-day programme themed around *The Invisible World.The initial line-up includes Mohammed Saif al-Sowaidi, CEO of the Qatar Investment Authority; Alex Mashrabov, CEO of Higgsfield; Ester Baiget, President and CEO of Novonesis; Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN; Vitali Klitschko, Mayor of Kyiv and Chair of the Association of Ukrainian Cities; and actress and singer Yasmina El Abd.They are joined by Julie Uhrman, co-founder and principal advisor of Angel City FC; Courtney Powell, COO and managing partner of 500 Global; Ghana's Minister of Foreign Affairs Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Co-operation Council; Qatari Olympic and world champion Mutaz Barshim; and Shamina Singh, founder and president of the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth and executive vice-president for sustainability at Mastercard.CNN anchors and correspondents from the Middle East, Europe and the United States will lead the discussions, with Wolf Blitzer and Bijan Hosseini joining Christiane Amanpour, Richard Quest, Becky Anderson and Eleni Giokos on stage.The event will examine "the concept of the Invisible World", exploring the forces quietly reshaping how the world works. Topics range from the global systems that keep economies, communication and everyday life moving, to who controls attention, and why human instinct, creativity, leadership and resilience are set to grow in value as technology accelerates and systems become more automated.Ellana Lee, Group SVP, GM APAC and Global Head of Productions at CNN, said the Doha event would bring together "a formidable line-up of some of the region and the world's most compelling voices", describing it as an opportunity to explore how power, influence, technology, business and culture intersect in today's shifting world, seen through the prism of the region.Highlights and interviews from the event will feature across CNN platforms, followed by a dedicated show for worldwide audiences on CNN International and CNN All Access subscribers in the US.Global Perspectives: In Doha is being staged in partnership with Media City Qatar at the Rosewood Doha. The event also offers commercial partners, including previously announced sponsor Dangote, the chance to engage with attendees and CNN's global audience.
