Friends of the Environment Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Sports and Youth, concluded activities of ‘Sustainability Summer 2025’ camp for both boys and girls with a closing ceremony that honoured participating organisations, official sponsors, and the camp’s staff and volunteers. The camp was organised as part of the centre’s efforts to instil environmental values and promote the concept of sustainability among young people, in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 - particularly its environmental pillar.Participants engaged in a series of interactive workshops and educational trips that combined learning with hands-on experience. In this context, Director of Public Relations and Communication at the Friends of the Environment Center, Fahad Abdullah Malik, emphasised that the ‘Sustainability Summer 2025’ programme represented a significant milestone for the centre. He noted that it contributed tangibly to raising environmental awareness among participants and helped them understand sustainability as a way of life rather than a mere theoretical concept. The camp carefully blended learning with practical experience through diverse workshops, interactive activities, and field trips, giving young participants the opportunity to apply what they learned and explore environmental challenges and solutions firsthand. He also pointed out that youth participation in innovation and recycling workshops, educational trips, and heritage-related sustainability activities fostered a sense of responsibility and equipped them with new skills to become ambassadors for environmental awareness within their local communities.Meanwhile, Head of Events and Programs at Friends of the Environment Center, Zainab al-Shammari, affirmed the centre’s commitment to continuing such high-quality programs in collaboration with various partners, aiming to nurture a new generation that is conscious of environmental issues and capable of supporting Qatar’s efforts to achieve the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, particularly regarding environmental sustainability.Regarding the types of activities included in the camp programme, al-Shammari explained that it featured a variety of initiatives, including creative workshops such as "Icebreaker” session to enhance positive communication among participants, "Our Summer of Learning” workshop focused on recycling and environmental creativity, and "Innovation Lab,” which allowed participants to explore tools for creative thinking and develop practical solutions to real-world challenges.
