The Syrian Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology announced Wednesday that Syria has returned to the global telecommunications system after an absence of more than ten years, following the lifting of recent US sanctions.The announcement came during a visit by Syrian Telecommunications Minister Abdul Salam Haykal to the Jordanian capital, Amman, where Syria's resumption of participation in the GSMA, the global mobile communications association, was confirmed.This return allows Syria and its companies to participate in international conferences, capacity-building programs, and global connectivity services.The Minister also received an official invitation to attend the Mobile World Doha Congress, scheduled to be held in Qatar next November.
