General Directorate of Coasts and Border Security conducts job-shadowing programme for police officers

The General Directorate of Coasts and Border Security at the Ministry of Interior concluded its two-week job-shadowing programme for a number of officers from the German Federal Police, as well as a specialised training course on combating illegal immigration, which included the participation of officers from the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Djibouti. These initiatives are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international co-operation and exchange expertise in maritime security.The job-shadowing programme lasted for two weeks and involved familiarisation with the operational mechanisms of various departments within the General Directorate of Coasts and Border Security. Participants also learned about the latest technologies and equipment in use, methods of handling maritime reports and incidents, and visited the maritime training and qualification centre.The training course, organised by the maritime training centre in co-operation with the Police Officers Institute at the Police Academy, addressed several key topics related to combating illegal immigration, including root cause analysis, identifying different types, and understanding associated routes. At the conclusion of the programme, Director General of Coasts and Border Security Major General Nasser Jabr al-Nuaimi presented certificates to the participants.
