As part of its ongoing efforts to support the local communities, Qatar Charity (QC) has rebuilt the Khalid bin Al-Walid Mosque in the Alkarak region of Jordan.The project was funded by a donor from Qatar and implemented in co-ordination with Jordan’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, represented by Dr Mohammad al-Khalaileh, Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places.The mosque was inaugurated in the presence of QC's Jordan office general supervisor Saleh Ghorab al-Marri, Karak Governor Dr Qablan al-Sharif, Karak Mayor Dr Ali al-Haisa, and several officials, sheikhs, and local dignitaries.The mosque cost approximately 500,000 Jordanian dinars, with a construction area of 900sqm. It can accommodate 800 worshippers and includes a main prayer hall for men and women, ablution areas, a residence for the imam, and a warehouse.Minister al-Khalaileh expressed his appreciation to Qatar, its leadership, government, and people and to the Qatari donor who funded the reconstruction of the mosque through QC.He emphasised that the Khalid bin Al-Walid Mosque is a vital religious and social centre in the area, highlighting the depth of fraternal ties between Jordan and Qatar.Sheikh Musleh al-Khatib, the local Imam, extended his thanks to QC for restoring the mosque.
