The Linear Park at Al Hilal in Doha, spread across 75,000sq m, continues to attract a good number of visitors despite the summer heat.The 1.5km long and 50m wide park sees many regular visitors on a daily basis and is a popular destination for families and friends at the weekends.A riot of colours, green lawns and trees beckon visitors to the park.Many families and children could be seen at the park, especially in the afternoon, walking, jogging, or cycling, one end of which is located behind The Mall and the headquarters of Qatar Charity.The Linear Park is surrounded by lush greenery and has several types of trees providing a pleasant atmosphere though abutting a busy road.The Public Parks Department, in collaboration with the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), built the park and opened it in February 2019, marking the launch of a new idea that involves making use of the space along the sides of roads and highways and converting them into green areas and environment-friendly spaces.
