QCTF, Bioracer ink MoU to boost Qatar cyclists in 2030 Asiad build-up

The Qatar Cycling and Triathlon Federation (QCTF) and Belgian cycling apparel maker Bioracer on Monday inked a Memorandum of Understanding to elevate Qatari riders on the global stage.The signing ceremony was headlined by QCTF President Eng. Abdulaziz Saud al-Tamimi and Danny Segers, the CEO of Bioracer.Bioracer, who have championed the cause of Olympic Games medallists and world champions, will deliver specially designed outfits for Qatari cyclists besides providing for their meticulously planned summer training camps in Belgium, it was revealed."As we sign the Memorandum of Understanding with Bioracer, we are not merely taking a procedural step — we are reaffirming our firm commitment to developing our sport, elevating the standards of our national teams, and enhancing Qatar’s presence on the international stage," al-Tamimi told a news conference held at Sheraton Doha."The signing of this MoU is a true embodiment of an ambitious vision aimed at propelling our sport to the ranks of global elite and at preparing a generation of athletes capable of honouring the name of Qatar in all international arenas," he added."We do not believe in coincidence when it comes to achieving success — we believe in hard work, professional preparation and strategic partnerships that make a real difference on the ground. Hence, this agreement with a leading company in its field, through which we aim to leverage all its expertise and technologies in the service of our athletes and national teams," the QCTF president explained."We have chosen to be leaders, to provide our teams with a fully integrated training environment, and with innovative sports kits that reflect the authenticity of our identity, deliver top performances, and align with the highest international standards," al-Tamimi said."We are confident that this step will yield a new generation of champions — capable of raising the name of Qatar high and achieving accomplishments worthy of our wise leadership’s aspirations," the QCTF president said.Segers, the CEO of Bioracer, said yesterday: "It is with great enthusiasm that I join QCTF to formalize our partnership. At Bioracer, passion is one of our key values, passion for performance apparel that makes athletes faster."The Bioracer representative added: "This passion is matched by a commitment to collaboration — with federations, teams and athletes worldwide. And it is this passion we experienced also in all the discussions we had with the QCTF management."Through this MOU, we pledge to bring our full suite of technical expertise, customization capabilities and innovation to Qatar. Whether it's aerodynamic cycling jerseys, tri-suits, or race-day gear, we will work closely with the QCTF to cater designs and products specifically to the needs of Qatari athletes."Moreover, this collaboration doesn't revolve around customized clothing only. It will also create opportunities for athletes development by providing training facilities in Belgium, wind tunnel testing, aerodynamics studies, bike manufacturers, and recommending races in Belgium.
