Ooredoo has renewed its strategic partnership agreement with Qatar Cancer Society for 2021, which will provide valuable support for the many initiatives undertaken by the charity throughout the year.
Qatar Cancer Society, founded in 1997, aims to prevent cancer by raising awareness of the disease and promoting the importance of a healthy, active lifestyle; supporting, empowering, and advocating for those living with the disease; and engaging in professional development and scientific development research. Each year, the society runs many initiatives with these objectives in mind. The next initiative will be the ‘Blossom’ campaign to raise awareness of breast cancer, one of the most common types of cancer among women in Qatar and worldwide. The campaign, targeting all sectors of Qatari society throughout the month, aims to emphasise the importance of periodic examination for early detection; to spread the culture of a healthy lifestyle to prevent the disease; and to highlight health services available in the State of Qatar, as well as emphasising the society’s role in providing psychological and financial support to cancer patients, and improving the experiences of individuals living with cancer.Sabah Rabiah al-Kuwari, director, PR at Ooredoo, said: “We're delighted to be renewing our strategic partnership with Qatar Cancer Society for a further year, and to yet again be their strategic partner.“We're committed to supporting organisations that improve health for all as part of our corporate social responsibility strategy, and we welcome opportunities such as these to demonstrate this commitment. We look forward to another year of invaluable initiatives with QCS.”
Mona Ashknani, general manager, Qatar Cancer Society, said: “I thank Ooredoo for their continuous support to QCS and the support of yet another initiative. We have a longstanding history and partnership with Ooredoo, and the company is always the first to support the society, whether in treating cancer patients or supporting our awareness programmes. Such partnerships are vital in the fight against cancer, and we must all join together to raise awareness of the disease and support cancer patients and their families.”
