Kuwait envoy praises deep-rooted Qatar ties
64th Independence anniversary and the 34th Liberation Day of Kuwait marked

Relations between Qatar and Kuwait have always been strong, deep-rooted and an excellent example for distinguished relations full of achievements both in the past and during current times, stressed the Kuwaiti ambassador in Doha Khaled Badr al-Mutairi.The ambassador was addressing a gathering of guests and senior officials from Qatar and Kuwait Wednesday to celebrate the 64th Independence Anniversary and the 34th Liberation Day of Kuwait. Among the chief guests of honour at the ceremony included HE Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al-Thani, HE the Chairman of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdulla al-Ghanim, HE the Chairman of Qatar Businessmen Association Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani, HE the President of Qatar National Library Minister of State Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kuwari, HE the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Ghanem bin Shaheen bin Ghanem al-Ghanem, HE the Minister of Municipality Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah al-Attiyah, HE the Minister of Public Health Mansoor bin Ebrahim bin Saadal-Mahmoud, HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad bin Sultan al-Muraikhi, and HE Ambassador Ibrahim Yousif Abdullah Fakhro, director of the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among others, besides a number of ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions and other guests.Ambassador al-Mutairi expressed his high appreciation of the brotherly and excellent relations between the two countries that endured through the times of welfare and the hard times as well, making its priority the integration of the two nations driven by the determination of the wise leaderships of the two countries.He said the work of the 6th round of the Joint Supreme Committee for Co-operation between Qatar and Kuwait concluded recently in Doha, which resulted in signing several memorandums of understanding and agreements between the two countries in various fields to further cement the already well-established relations between the two countries.He said Kuwait has always been keen to unify the joint GCC work as Kuwait heads the 45th GCC Supreme Council for the welfare of all the GCC nations.Accordingly, he expressed the steadfastness of Kuwait with the rights of the Palestinian people, rejecting the unjustifiable aggression of the occupation forces against the people of Gaza. He said Kuwait as well as other free nations reject the calls for the displacement of the Palestinians from their lands. He further stressed that his country insists on the full rights of the Palestinians and a permanent ceasefire.
