City University Qatar, Hamad Bin Khalifa University claim University Padel titles
City University Qatar (CUQ) and (HBKU) were crowned champions of the men’s and women’s categories, respectively, at the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) University Padel Tournament for the 2026–2027 sports season, which concluded on Saturday evening. Organised by the Qatar Collegiate Sports Federation (QCSF) in co-operation with the Qatar Padel Federation and Qatar Foundation, the tournament ran from October 1 to 3 at The Dome courts at Qatar Foundation, attracting strong participation that reflected padel’s growing popularity across the university community. In the men’s competition on Friday, CUQ claimed the tournament title and first place, while Qatar University (2) finished runners-up and Police College (1) took third place.Rashid Saeed Adiba, secretary general of QCSF; and Hamad Saleh al-Shiba, board member of the Federation, honoured the top three teams. In the women’s competition on Saturday, Hamad Bin Khalifa University (2) secured the title after finishing top of the standings, with Qatar University (1) taking second place and the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) finishing third. Amina Al Kaabi, Member of the Women’s Sports Committee at the QCSF, crowned the top three teams in the women’s competition. The participating men’s teams were divided into four groups. Group A featured University of Doha for Science and Technology (2), City University Qatar (1), Police Institute (1), Doha Institute, and HBKU (2). Group B comprised HBKU (1), QU (1), Aeronautical Academy (2), Police College (1), and Malaysian University (2). Group C consisted of QU (2), Police College (2), Aeronautical Academy (1), and Lusail University, while Group D included UDST (1), Police Institute (2), CUQ (2), and Malaysian University.The women’s competition on Saturday featured eight teams divided into two groups. Group A comprised QU (2), CUQ, UDST (2), and HBKU (2), while Group B featured QU(1), UDST (1), Doha Institute, and HBKU (1).
