Lulu Group has launched the vibrant "India Utsav” to celebrate India's 75th Republic Day, showcasing an extensive range of Indian foods, spices, authentic cuisines, and traditional ethnic wear.The festival, according to a statement from Lulu, showcases the finest quality Indian food and the rich diversity of India's culture and heritage, while highlighting the quality in manufacturing and innovation of Indian products among the local and expatriate communities.The 10-day-long festival has been organised annually by Lulu Group across all its regions for the past two decades.The festival was inaugurated Saturday by Indian ambassador Vipul at Lulu Hypermarket, D-Ring Road.The event saw the presence of Qatari dignitaries, prominent guests, representatives from Indian community organisations, officials from the Lulu Group, and a large gathering of expatriate communities.The envoy said in his inaugural speech that it is a very important occasion for India."This is the 75th anniversary of our republic,” Vipul said. "Our constitution came into force on 26th January 1950. In these seven and a half decades, India has grown tremendously.”"One of the things that we always talk about is the strength of Indian democracy, which was on full display in 2024 when we had the largest of our elections on planet Earth," he added."As far as India-Qatar relations are concerned, we have had a wonderful 2024” the envoy continued. "We had the visit of our prime minister to Qatar in 2024, we had several visits by our national affairs minister, and we have taken the agenda of our co-operation.""We have historic and friendly relations between our two countries, on trade, on investment, on energy, on new technologies across the board,” Vipul noted."I think our relations are going forward,” the envoy said. "Businesses like Lulu are emblematic of this co-operation between India and Qatar on the trade and investment side.”"I would say that centuries ago, the relationship was based more on trade and people ties,” Vipul stated.
