QRCS successfully executes its Adahi project

According to Muna Fadel al-Sulaiti, executive director, Volunteering and Local Development, QRCS, the project provided food aid for vulnerable families and groups, with the aim of achieving food security, establishing a glorious act of worship in Islam and making it easier for Muslims to offer the ritual sacrifice during Eid al-Adha. The project engaged individual and institutional donors in the promotion of social solidarity, and ensuring the delivery of charity to those eligible.“We designed a well-organised scheme to distribute the food aid under the applicable preventive measures,” said al-Sulaiti. “Together with our partner, we could distribute a total of 500 heads of sheep to 750 vulnerable families registered with QRCS’ seasonal assistance programme, in addition to 711 families, or 3,555 persons, as indirect beneficiaries”.“As usual every year, Widam played an essential role in the success of the Adahi Project. They provided the heads of sheep purchased by the donors via different means of donation. Then, they slaughtered the animals within the ritually designated timeframe. The meat was divided into rations, packaged as per health requirements, and handed over to the beneficiaries at two locations: Umm Salal Central Slaughterhouse and Al-Wakra Central Slaughterhouse,” she added.Al-Sulaiti said that 23 volunteers were present at all distribution points throughout the days of Eid, to organise the distribution process.SMStarget="_blank"'>
