The Duality of Identity and Modernity: In my voice and through my words

I am Roza, writing today with profound gratitude and pride after being honoured by the Katara – the Cultural Village administration in Qatar for my participation in the Katara Arts Festival. This event marked a pivotal moment in my artistic and cultural journey, not only because it allowed me to share my educational and ethical project, Ana Fekra (I am an Idea), but also because it provided a platform for showcasing my artwork, The Duality of Identity and Modernity, for the very first time.Ana Fekra is a reflection of my humanistic and educational message — a project that harmonises timeless ethical values with a contemporary vision rooted in our heritage and identity. What began as a small idea has grown into a passion, driving me to build a strong bridge that connects generations to their identity while embedding the essence of authenticity and modernity.During the symposium in which I was honoured to participate at the festival, I had the opportunity to discuss the pioneering spirit of this project that I deeply believe will make a difference. My participation was a chance to tell the world that art is not merely about painting or words; it is a vision that ties the past to the present, transforming challenges into pathways for creativity.My artwork, The Duality of Identity and Modernity, embodies this belief. It is a visual expression of the balance I strive for — preserving our cultural identity while embracing the possibilities of modernity. Presenting this piece at a festival that gathers elite artists from around the globe was a significant step for me, especially as I decided to dedicate this artwork to Prof Khalid al-Sulaiti, the General Manager of Katara – the Cultural Village, as a token of my immense gratitude and appreciation for his continued support and his embrace of art and culture.This event has added tremendous value to my professional and national journey. It has given me a powerful push to continue striving and achieving more milestones, whether through Ana Fekra or my artistic endeavours. Every detail of this festival has been an inspiration, from meeting global artists to the deep sense of recognition I felt.I extend my heartfelt thanks to the Katara – the Cultural Village administration and everyone who contributed to this success. My deepest gratitude goes to Prof al-Sulaiti for his unwavering support and belief in the importance of art and culture in building a cohesive society.
