Maritime Transport Affairs records 3,537 transactions in first quarter

The Maritime Transport Affairs recorded a total of 3,537 transactions during the first quarter of 2021 while extending various services, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) has said. In a recent tweet, the MoTC said the transactions covered main services for maritime vessels, maritime licences services, sailor affairs main services and maritime systems services.
A total of 3,111 transactions were rendered as part of the maritime vessels main services while maritime licences services, sailor affairs main services and maritime systems services accounted for 24, 172 and 228 services, respectively, according to the MoTC.Maritime vessels main services include registration, renewal, ownership transfer, duplicate in case of loss and deletion, while the maritime licences services, provided to foreign vessels engaged in operations in the Qatari waters, are renewal and data modification.Sailor affairs main services include issuance and accreditation of certificates of competency (COC) for marine officers, naval architects and safe manning, while maritime systems services are provided to big vessels and include ownership transfer and certificate of seaworthiness. The MoTC is providing various services to small and large vessels in order to develop the maritime transport sector. The services are also designed to facilitate operations and procedures and keep pace with technological advancements through the automation of all ship-related services.The services are provided through integration with the ministrytarget="_blank"'>
