His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met Tuesday at his office in Lusail Palace with Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is visiting the country.They discussed co-operation between the two countries and ways to support and develop it across various fields, particularly in the areas of defence, economy, trade, investment and energy to strengthen the existing partnership and open up broader horizons for joint co-operation.They also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest, especially the latest regional and international developments, and the efforts made to enhance security and stability in the region.The two sides stressed the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on various issues to support peace and enhance constructive co-operation at the bilateral and international levels.The meeting was attended by His Excellency Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, His Excellency Chief of the Amiri Diwan Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Khulaifi, along with a number of senior officials.On Pakistan's side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with a number of senior officials.
