The Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Doha held a ceremony on Monday on the occasion of the Foundation Day, under the slogan 'Our Day,' local Arabic daily Arrayah reported. HE the Minister of Sports and Youth Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed al-Thani, HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad al-Muraikhi, HE the Minister of State and Qatar National Library president Dr Hamad bin Abdulaziz al-Kawari, HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani and a number of diplomats were present.On the occasion, Saudi ambassador Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan al-Saud, affirmed that Qatari relations with Saudi Arabia are linked by deep-rooted fraternal and friendly ties. The envoy added: "Qatar is always in my heart and it is a close and sister country. We have a long history and exemplary relations that cannot be compared to any other country. There is no doubt that we are holding this precious occasion in a beloved and dear state to us, which is the sister State of Qatar."We feel very much the affection, interconnectedness, brotherhood, and their eagerness to share this occasion with us, and it is not strange to them, and it reflects the relations of brotherhood, love, and common ties between our two countries, and our people."The Saudi envoy affirmed that the occasion of Founding Day is a precious occasion for the Saudi people, as it always reminds them of the cultural heritage and historical depth of the Saudi state, which extends for more than three centuries, and of course it symbolises primarily heroism, pride, courage, and social cohesion. "I take advantage of this occasion to extend my highest congratulations to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince, may God protect them and the Saudi people."
