The International Horticultural Exhibition Expo 2023 Doha has celebrated the Tajikistan Day, which featured cultural activities and live artistic shows that vividly reflect Tajik patrimony.The celebration was held in the presence of HE the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie and Tajik Agriculture Minister Qurbon Hakimzoda, alongside a host of ministers, officials and heads of the diplomatic missions accredited to Qatar.The Tajik minister commended Qatar for hosting a premium edition of the international exhibition.He underscored his country's interest the issue of water use to achieve the sustainable development, along with its efforts in the UN to back global initiatives that aim to constitute a better understanding of water issues at the global level and achieve social and economic development, as well as environmental sustainability, peace and stability in general.Following the celebration, the officials attending the event visited the Tajik pavilion that showcases the Tajik resources, culture, landmarks, arts, history, and heritage, in addition to displaying its most prominent agricultural products.Handmade carpets and prayer accessories are highlighted at the pavilion, giving insight to the place Islam has in the country’s Islamic history.The pavilion showcases handmade rosaries as well as a collection of the finest rosaries made of alabaster and precious stones.Leather and textile products are on display as well, distinguished drawings inspired by the flora and fauna of Tajikistan.The pavilion also exhibits women's products, with shawls and scarves made of wool embroidered in bright colours.In addition, the pavilion showcases samples of raw cotton and its products, as it is one of the most important agricultural crops in Tajikistan.There are mountain white honey products, known to be one of the finest, in addition to a mini market offering dried fruits such as figs, peaches, sunshine, nuts, and sweets.Also available are handmade heritage products that depict the Islamic identity and culture of the Tajik people.The pavilion primarily promotes the tourist attractions of Tajikistan, with its walls adorned with the pictures of these landmarks.
