Qatar participates in 16th meeting of customs union authority of GCC countries
The State of Qatar participated in the 16th meeting of the Customs Union Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, which was held in Riyadh, KSA.In the meeting, the State of Qatar was represented by a delegation led by HE Chairman of the General Authority of Customs and President of the Executive Council of the Customs Union Authority, Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal.The meeting addressed several topics related to the development of joint Gulf customs work, including the following up on projects related to to completing the requirements for the establishment of the Customs Union Authority, reviewing updates on the unified customs law for the GCC countries, in addition to discussing reports and minutes of the specialized committees and technical teams.The meeting also addressed what has been accomplished regarding the implementation of the Executive Council's decisions, and discussed several technical items on the agenda, which contribute to strengthening coordination and unifying customs procedures among the GCC countries.These periodic meetings reflect the pivotal role played by the Customs Union Authority in supporting the Gulf integration process, enhancing cooperation between the customs administrations of the GCC countries, and developing joint work mechanisms, which contributes to facilitating intra-regional trade and improving unified customs performance.
