Al Wakra Municipality's Health Inspection Section carried out 1,047 inspection tours on food establishments during June.These resulted in issuing 17 violations according to Law No. 8 for 1990 regulating human food control. Besides, 21 reports were resolved in reconciliation while one report was referred to the police for further legal procedures.The veterinarians at the section supervised the operations of Al Wakra automated slaughterhouse and examined 15,361 slaughtered carcasses of livestock. A total of 382 slaughtered carcasses were completely destroyed and 7,805kg of meat partially destroyed for not being fit for human consumption. Around 38,000kg of fish were examined at Al Wakra Fish Market.The Municipality inspectors also took 29 samples of food items and sent them to the central laboratory to determine their suitability for human consumption. Further, 25 complaints related to food were received and addressed immediately.
