The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) organised an Eid Bazaar, which hosted festive stalls, and a henna night on the eve of Eid al-Fitr – April 20 - at its premises.There were 55-plus stalls where clothes, jewellery, food, household commodities and artworks were available.The Eid Bazaar was inaugurated by the chief guest of the evening, Padma Kari, first secretary - political and information, Indian embassy in Doha.Senior community leaders and presidents of associate organisations were present during the inauguration ceremony.The welcome address was delivered by ICC general secretary Mohan Kumar.Kari spoke about how the bazaar made her nostalgic about her childhood, and congratulated the ICC committee for organising such a lovely and mindful event.ICC president A P Manikantan wished everyone Eid Mubarak and thanked all for contributing towards the event's success.The event was put together by Gargi Vaidya, head of external events and activities at ICC, and Subramanya Hebbagelu, vice-president of ICC, with the support of other ICC managing committee members.The event was compered by Sumaa Mahesh Gowda, head of cultural, ICC.The bazaar saw a footfall of more than 3,000 people from various expatriate communities. The visitors appreciated the Indian Cultural Centre for putting together such a grand night and looked forward to more of such festive nights in the coming days.
