#bigbmeetup celebrates five years of 'bringing communities together'

Qatar’s popular community outreach initiative, #bigbmeetup, is celebrating five years since its inception on April 27, 2018, when the first-ever wellness episode was held at The Torch Doha.Qatari sports personality Mohamed Saadoun al-Kuwari was the keynote speaker at the event.Since the inaugural edition, founder Bosco Menezes has conducted over 85 editions of the popular community outreach initiative that prides itself on four pillars : Celebrating Art & Culture, Sports & Wellness, Estedama (Arabic for sustainability) and This Ability - championing people who are differently abled and neuro-diverse.It’s motto is To Inspire, To Educate, To Inform and bring communities together.The initiative has hosted differently abled children and adults alike, as well as many high-profile Qataris and expatriates residing in Qatar and overseas.During Covid-19, Menezes took the initiative to the online platforms of YouTube and Facebook, streaming live from Qatar to a worldwide audience.It has hosted individuals ranging from the former US ambassador to Qatar Chase Untermeyer and his wife from Houston, US, to Fatma al-Dosari, executive director of the Qatar America Institute of Culture in Washington, US.Menezes also hosted Yukari Sunaga, wife of the former Japanese ambassador to Qatar.To celebrate the five years, Menezes has planned many events to commemorate bringing communities together.
