The Ministry of Municipality has announced the requirements for placing campaign hoardings and advertisements for the upcoming Central Municipal Council (CMC) elections. Attending a special programme on Qatar TV Wednesday, Khalifa Mohamed al-Khayarin, director of the Technical Affairs Department at Al-Rayyan Municipality, explained the conditions that must be met by candidates while placing campaign ads and hoardings for the elections, which will be held on June 22.The specifications and conditions include:1- Advertising through an approved advertising company that has the necesary licences.2- Advertising through different platforms provided by advertising companies licensed by the State.3- A candidate has to obtain the candidacy registration and the electoral committee’s letter of nomination.4- The campaign material should not cause tribal strife.Al-Khayarin stressed that the campaign ads of candidates should not offend others.Mohamed al-Emadi, head of the Advertising Unit at Doha Municipality, said the Ministry of Municipality is the authority responsible for issuing permits for advertisements for candidates for the CMC elections, in cooperation with the supervisory committee of the polls. Al-Emadi explained that candidates have the right to choose the location of their electoral advertisements, provided they comply with the requirements of the relevant municipality.
