Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Jordan have voiced their full solidarity with Qatar following the targeting of the Qatari tanker Al Rekayyat near the Strait of Hormuz, condemning the assault as a grave threat to the safety of international navigation and to global energy supplies.Saudi Arabia strongly condemned the attack on Al Rekayyat, along with the targeting of its own tanker Wedyan as it transited the strait, describing both as an assault on the security of international navigation and on global energy supplies. Its Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Iran's continued attacks amounted to a grave violation of international law and of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which guarantees freedom of navigation and the safe passage of maritime traffic. Riyadh called on Iran to halt all actions threatening regional security and shipping, and held it fully responsible for the attacks and their consequences.The UAE condemned the "Iranian aggression" in the strongest terms, calling it a dangerous escalation aimed at undermining the stability of one of the world's most vital waterways. Its Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that using the Strait of Hormuz as a tool for economic pressure or blackmail was unacceptable, and reaffirmed its support for all measures to protect Qatar's ships, national interests and freedom of navigation in regional and international waters.Jordan likewise denounced the attack as a flagrant breach of international law, with its Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirming the kingdom's full solidarity with Qatar and its backing for all steps the country takes to safeguard its security, stability and national assets.
