The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) stressed that it is necessary for owners of commercially licensed service villas to adhere to the authorised commercial activities and requirements to avoid legal accountability.Issuing a circular regulating the work practised in commercially licensed service villas, the MoCI said the service licence is issued for the villa as whole, and not a part of it, emphasising the importance of adherence to the scope of the licence and its non-operation outside the villa.The service villa should not connected to the residence, and the residence should not be a part of the villa as well, the circular states.The MoCI said that it is necessary to adhere to the type of activity registered in the commercial licence issued for the villa, which must also comply with the activities stipulated in the ministerial decision regulating the matter.In addition, the circular stresses adherence to safety, security and Civil Defence conditions, as required by the competent authorities. It also says there should be adherence to health requirements, as required by the competent authorities for certain activities.The ministry has called upon the owners of commercially licensed service villas to adhere to the authorised commercial activities and comply with the requirements in order to avoid legal accountability.
