Qatar Museums (QM) will host new activities and events for the public during May, including talks, tours, workshops, and family activities.Tasweer Photo Festival Qatar will host a workshop, titled “Crafting Zines: Experimenting with Printed Imagery”, on May 24-25 from 4pm to 7pm at Bayt Al Wakra, featuring artist Jood Elbeshti.M7 will host a workshop with Hollywood-certified make-up artist Zeinab Kain on May 4 from 11am to 2pm at its Creative Learning Space.The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) will host various art workshops for children, families, and adults on May 11 from 11am to 1pm.An introductory workshop for children aged 5-7 about the world of art is also scheduled on May 11 from 11am to 12.30pm at MIA.“Fashioning An Empire – Watercolour Painting for Adults” is set from May 12-14 between 4pm and 6pm at MIA. Participants will learn about the designs from the Safavid Empire.A workshop on May 14-15 from 4pm to 5.30pm, giving children aged 5-7 a chance to explore the beauty of Islamic art and artefacts at MIA.The National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) is hosting a storytelling session about the symbolic significance of Sidra trees in Qatari heritage, a guided tour focused on the history of pearl diving, and a guided tour for families on May 4, 5pm to 6pm.NMoQ is holding a daily tour, titled A Story of Pearl Divers from May 13 to 20 [1pm – 2.30pm (English) and 4pm – 5.30pm (Arabic)].Families with children aged 6-9 can join an interactive adventure through the museum galleries and family exhibits on May 18 from 1pm to 2.30pm in English.Mathaf will run their regular art lessons with Ismail Azzam as well as workshop for Qatar’s homeschooling community on May 8, 15 and 22 from 4pm to 5.30pm.Participants will learn different portraiture techniques using various mediums, including pencil, charcoal, and paint.Fire Station: Artists in Residence is hosting on May 4 a fashion workshop, led by Alanoud Alghamdi on how to create bespoke mood boards.
