HE Ambassador of Qatar to the Republic of Turkey Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani affirmed that His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's visit to the Republic of Turkey on Sunday aimed to show the support of Qatar to the peoples of Turkey and Syria at the highest level, "especially since the disaster has hurt us as much as it hurt our brothers in Turkey and Syria."HE noted that the State of Qatar, from the first moments of the earthquake disaster, stood by the Republic of Turkey, and has harnessed all capabilities to provide relief to those affected by this catastrophic disaster, providing urgent aid and relief to the victims of this disaster, whose repercussions and painful effects are still continuing until now.In an exclusive statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE added that since the first moments of this tragedy, the State of Qatar has come to Turkey for assistance, and all of this culminated in the visit of His Highness the Amir, which carries a clear message that Qatar always stands by Turkey, in good times and bad, and that they are partners in this painful calamity.His Highness the Amir immediately after the earthquake struck, made a phone call to President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, during which His Highness expressed his condolences and sympathy to the president and to the Turkish people on the victims of the earthquake in several southern provinces, praying the Almighty Allah to have mercy upon them, grant them paradise, and inspire their families with patience and solaceHis Highness also expressed, during the call, Qatar's support for the Republic of Turkey in mitigating the serious humanitarian repercussions left by the earthquake, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.Qatar has witnessed, during the past two days, a large campaign of in-kind donations in support and solidarity with those affected by the devastating earthquake that struck southern Turkey last week.
