Qatar chairs meeting of Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs

Qatar, represented by HE the Minister of Social Development and Family Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser al-Misnad, has assumed on Thursday the presidency of the 42nd Meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs during its opening session. In her speech on this occasion, HE al-Misnad expressed her thanks and appreciation for the trust placed in her by the Arab ministers of social affairs, and their support for her to assume the presidency of the 42nd meeting of the council.In this context, HE al-Misnad said that she was confident that the combined hands will sustain and enrich the joint work to meet the aspirations of the governments and peoples in providing the elements and conditions for a decent life, whose essence lies in the integrated and concerted work to promote the concept, practice and reality of the well-established Arab family as the nucleus of strong societies that are capable of achieving all the remaining of the development goals, including, but not limited to, the integration of all less able groups into public life, providing conditions for a decent life for the societies, and meeting the entitlements of sustainable growth of the Arab human being.HE the Minister and Chairperson of the 42nd Meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs began her speech by welcoming all the participants in this meeting among their families and in their second country, Qatar. On behalf of all of them, she expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to Minister of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia, Chairman of the 41st Meeting of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, Eng Ahmad bin Sulaiman al- Rajhi, for his presidency, which was rich in achievements, initiatives, and efforts to serve Arab societies and translate the will of the governments to provide opportunities and capabilities for the social affairs to become more developed, and to empower the individual economically and socially to be active within the circle of the national economy.The 42nd meeting, which concluded yesterday, discussed a number of important files that represent a priority for joint Arab social development action, at the forefront of this is continuing of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, especially in its social dimensions that affect the life of the Arab citizen, in addition to issues related to the weak and vulnerable groups in society, especially persons with disabilities, and ways to increase their inclusion in all fields of public life, issues related to efforts to eradicate poverty in all its dimensions, and other related issues and files.
