NCTES win Cric Qatar Champions Trophy in style

The fifth edition of Cric Qatar Champions Trophy 2019, which saw participation of 48 teams, ended recently with NCTES beat HIQ Cricket Club in the final to lift the title.After winning the toss, HIQ decided to bat first and scored 127 for 6 in stipulated 15 overs. Al Ifraj and Ameer Sultan were the top-scorers for HIQ with 32 and 29 runs respectively, but Affan Deshmuk and Bukhari Arakkal bowled well to take two wickets each and restrict their opponents to 127 runs.NCTES chased the target with ease scoring 132 for 4 in just 10.3 overs, with Nadeem Usman scoring a blitzy 51. His 16-ball knock included six sixes and three boundaries, and also earned him the Man of the Match award.Chanu Madushan of SL Lions team was adjudged Man of the series and Best Batsman of the Tournament, while the Best Bowler of the Tournament award was presented to Fairoos Mohamed of Camaroon Cricket Club.The players were felicitated in the presence of many dignitaries, including HPI Industries director SM Bukhari, Dana World Contracting Company managing director Gadde Srinivas, Snow King managing director SS Rao, Loyola School chairman Prasad Rao and Indian Sports Centre vice-president Mohamed Nabi. Syed Rafi, chairman of Cric Qatar and Channel 5, thanked all the dignitaries and the teams for their participation and support. Bukhari presented the trophies to the winners and runners-up.
