Qatar takes part in Muscat conference

The State of Qatar has participated in the 21st meeting of ministers responsible for environment affairs in the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) in Muscat, Oman, with a delegation led by HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment Engineer Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie. The meeting discussed a number of environmental issues related to the promotion and development of joint environmental action in light of the global challenges facing the environment and climate and developments in the areas and prospects for sustainable development. The meeting also dealt with the environmental strategies of the GCC countries, the development of environmental monitoring systems, and the Gulf environmental data portal. It also discussed issues related to the development of joint environmental work of the GCC countries, as well as co-operation with various international organisations to promote environmental protection programmes. — QNA
