Mohamed Sultan al-Suwaidi made a roaring start to his Hathab Longines Tour 2019-2020 campaign, claiming the Big Tour victory in the first round of the 12-leg competition at Al Shaqab Saturday.Riding the 7-year-old bay mare Happy Feet, al-Suwaidi indeed came back smiling with a faultless winning round in 72.97secs in the Table A, One round against the clock, Art. 238.2.1 (130/145cm) event to claim the top prize of Qatari Riyals 8,750 besides valuable points.Finishing second was Hamad Towaim al-Marri on Chin Van de Kranenburg. Though he too rode flawless, he needed 81.15secs to clear the obstacles for a prize of QR3,000.In the Open Class, Mohamed Khalifa al-Baker excelled on Arselina to top the One round against the clock, Art. 238.2.1 (130/145cm) event. He clocked 39.21secs and 20.66secs both times being faultless.Ghanim Nasser al-Qadi on Numero Uno-T finished second in 35.97secs and 23.44secs respectively in the two rounds.In the Future Riders’ Optimum Time categories, 1.
