Ooredoo-sponsored play on elders ‘a huge success’

Hundreds of visitors enjoyed the performances, from toddlers to grandparents and every age in between, in celebration of International Day of Older Persons.
Ooredoo yesterday said a play it sponsored to celebrate International Day of Older Persons was “a huge success”, as shown by the many photographs and social media shares of the event. The leading telecommunications operator was official telecommunications sponsor for the play titled ‘Tales of My Grandfather’, which was presented at Mall of Qatar on October 10 and 11 by the Elderly Empowerment and Care Centre (Ehsan) under the umbrella of Qatar Foundation for Social Work.‘Tales of My Grandfather’ was intended to honour senior citizens and share with the younger generations the contribution of their elders to the society, bridging age gaps and bringing community members together. Hundreds of visitors enjoyed the performances, from toddlers to grandparents and every age in between, in celebration of International Day of Older Persons, the statement noted.Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi, director of PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo, said of the event: “We were so pleased to see such a good turnout for performances of ‘Tales of My Grandfather’.
