MoI and FBI launch training programme in crisis management

*Plan developed to ensure security during the 2022 World Cup

As part of its continuing efforts to ensure the safety and protection of all during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the Ministry of Interior (MoI), represented by the Planning and Quality Department, on Sunday launched in co-operation with the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, a training course on crisis and disaster management.

A group of 43 officers, assigned for missions to implement security plans for 2022 World Cup and from various MoI departments are part of the five-day programme, according to information from the MoI website. The course is aimed at equipping the participants with the knowledge and skills that help them deal with major security crises, emergencies and potential hazards and initiate appropriate steps to address and contain them.

The training programme includes many theoretical lectures and practical exercises that teach participants to manage crises, plan special events, develop a crisis response plan, assess information in the command centre, build awareness of situations and circumstances and analyse major accident information. It also includes exercises on virtual emergencies.
