Culture ministry marks International Youth Day

The Ministry of Culture and Sports, represented in a number of youth and girls' centres and cultural committees in sports clubs, has marked the International Youth Day, which falls on 12 August each year.
This year's Word Youth Day is celebrated under the theme "Transforming Education". The ministry today published on its social media pages a short awareness film on this occasion reaffirming that societies are progressing with their youth, and that investing the potential of young people is a guarantee to advance progress.The film also highlighted Qatar's keen interest in empowering young people and providing them with leadership skills as a basis for preparing a conscious generation capable of working to complete sustainable development.On the occasion, a number of youth centers organised different activities, including lectures and exhibitions, to mark the day.It is noteworthy that Qatar is hosting, this year, the Doha Capital of Islamic Youth 2019, organised by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, in co-operation with the Islamic Co-operation Forum for Youth, under the supervision of the Qatar Centre for Cultural and Heritage Events. The event features different activities throughout the year.Nama takes part in International Youth DayMeanwhile, the Social Development Centre “Nama” organised a number of youth-centred training courses to mark International Youth Day, celebrated on August 12 every year.The event, held in co-operation with the Barzan Girls Centre and the Barzan Youth Centre, included workshops and training courses that shed light on the importance of education, international best practices and challenges facing young people in the field of education.
