Awareness lectures and workshops marked the summer camp by the National Programme for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) under Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa). The Summer with Tarsheed camp was organised in a bid to make the young generation aware of electricity and water conservation. The valedictory function was attended by Falah the Falcon mascot for the Middle East’s first-ever IAAF World Athletics Championship to be held in September in Qatar, according to a statement. The camp featured a number of activities including theatrical performances, awareness lectures, tours, storytelling and recycling workshops. The focus was on making participants aware of regulations and laws regarding water and electricity conservation and energy efficiency along with ways to reduce the rate of electricity and water consumption. A number of institutions including Doha Youth Center and Al Dana Center for Girls took part in the summer camp. Other participants included Qur’an memorisation centres and sports clubs across Qatar. The Kahramaa Awareness Park is open for public and students. Those interested to visit should register on kap.qa. Visitors can learn about energy and water conservation, and renewable energy programmes and technologies.
