UN delegation tours Islamic Cultural Center, NMoQ, DICID

The United Nations Alliance of Civilizations delegation, which includes participants from Europe and North America, yesterday visited the Sheikh Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, the National Museum of Qatar (NMoQ) and the Doha International Centre for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID). Their July 5-10 visit is part of the United Nations 2019 fellowship programme entitled ‘The role of women in peacemaking and conflict prevention’. The tour is also part of the partnership between the Qatari Committee of the Alliance of Civilizations and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, with a view to understanding the history of the state, its historical and cultural landmarks, closer co-operation between races, religions and cultures. On Saturday, the delegation had visited Msheireb Museums and participated in an open panel discussion organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
