3 killed as suspected al-Shabaab fighters attack Kenyan police camp

Suspected al-Shabaab fighters have attacked a policecamp in eastern Kenya, and three of them were killed as a result,police said on Saturday.No members of the police were killed or injured in the attack, whichtook place in Fafi, near the border with Somalia, late Friday. Security forces are now seeking the remaining attackers.Al-Shabaab - a Somali-based group linked to al-Qaeda - launchesregular attacks in Kenya, and in 2013 killed 67 people at theWestgate shopping mall in Nairobi.Earlier this year, militants targeted an upmarket Nairobi hotel,killing more than 20 people.The United States is supporting Somalian forces as well as AfricanUnion soldiers in the fight against the group, with frequentairstrikes against its bases.
