Jordan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Al-Safadi has affirmed that his country's relations with Qatar are distinguished fraternal relations pointing that there are coordination and consultation between the two countries on all issues of mutual concern.
In a television interview Friday, Al-Safadi said that Jordan will deal with any proposal on the Palestinian cause according to its firm principles which emphasise that there can be no solution to the conflict without the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the lines of June 4, 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace initiative. He stressed that Jordan's positions on the Palestinian cause are fixed and firm. “It is the same Arab and Islamic stance that the international community supports. There is no alternative to a two-state solution as a way to resolve the conflict.”On the so-called deal of the century, Al-Safadi said that no one knows what would be offered by the United States, which says will present its plan when it is completed. The Jordanian foreign minister stressed that the security of the Arab Gulf is a pillar of international peace and security, calling for reducing tension and working with effective mechanisms to prevent the aggravation of the situation.
