Interactive giant Monopoly game at Doha Festival City for Eid

Doha Festival City is celebrating Eid al-Fitr with a giant live version of Monopoly, the world’s best-selling board game.The concept is based on the original board game, and the activity will start today, on the first day of Eid, and continue till June 14.The activity will be located at the Centre Court, ground floor, and shoppers will be able to win prizes while playing the game, Doha Festival City has said in a statement.In order to join the game, shoppers must spend a minimum of QR200 at any of the mall’s retail outlets. They can take all their receipts to the Customer Service desks, located around the mall, to get them stamped.There will be four sessions per day and players can participate once they provide a new receipt valued at a minimum of QR200.Once shoppers get their receipts stamped to play and register their details, they get allocated Monopoly play pieces.Mr Monopoly and Mr Jailer, Masters of Ceremony, will make sure everyone is entertained and, most importantly, playing by the rules, the statement notes.The giant live Monopoly game will feature mall retailers as destinations.Participating brands include ACE, Al Tawfeeq Travel, A&F, Attila Mongolian Grill, Carluccio’s, Centrepoint, Hollister, Hollywood Stars, Lego, Lovely Lace, Luxury Spa & Fitness, Maki, Nando’s, Nespresso, Old Navy and Optica, who will all offer gift vouchers as prizes for players.During Eid, Doha Festival City shoppers will also enjoy an array of retailer discounts, food and beverage offerings, a photo booth as well as a live interactive gaming version of Yala’ydo, a popular TV show for kids, which is being hosted by the Angry Birds Theme Park from the first to fourth day of Eid at Theme Parks Atrium, the lower ground floor.Doha Festival City general manager Robert Hall said: “We are extremely excited to bring a game like this to Doha Festival City for Eid as part of our summer entertainment.
