QBWA names 'Takreem Awards' winners

Qatar Businesswomen Association (QBWA) revealed names of 2019 Takreem Awards at a gala award ceremony held under the patronage and in the presence of Qatari Businessmen Association chairman HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim al-Thani in Al Wadi MGallery Hotel in Msheireb Downtown Doha.
QBWA Takreem Awards aim to recognise and celebrate Qatari women who contribute to Qatar’s economy and society through their significant achievements in different fields. The nominations were made by the esteemed judges, and the winners were selected after long and thorough consideration.At the event, QBWA vice-chairwoman Aisha Hussain Alfardan said: “Tonight, we want to talk about achievements, and to identify potentials, talents and competencies, and this is the real purpose of the Takreem award, through which we will have the opportunity to recognise these leading women as to inspire younger generation to thrive and reach their full potential.”The award honoured HE Shaikha Ahmed al-Mahmoud for her outstanding lifetime achievements; HE the former Minister of Communications and Information Technology Dr Hessa al-Jaber in recognition of her outstanding career achievements and initiatives that contributed to inspiring generations in Qatar; and HE Lolwah al-Khater, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of International Relations; and professor Sheikha Asma Ali al-Thani in recognition of her initiatives and achievements in the field of medical work. Sheikha Yousef al-Jufairi and Fatima al-Kuwari were also honoured in recognition for their achievements in community work through their position as members of the Central Municipal Council, Hessa al-Abdulla was honoured in recognition of her achievements in the field of education, Rima al-Muraikhi for her hard work and achievements in the field of humanitarian work, Aisha al-Tamimi for her distinguished career and achievements in the field of hospitality, and Najla al-Shafie in recognition of her outstanding achievements as an female influencer and Dr Ghada Darwish for her outstanding achievements in legal work, law and arbitration. Samah al-Sada was honoured in recognition of her career and achievements in engineering, Bouthayna al-Muftah in recognition of her distinguished career and achievements in the field of art, Fatima al-Khater in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the field of entrepreneurship, Kummam al-Maadeed in recognition of her outstanding achievements in creative work, Yasmin Mansour as a young talent and fashion designer and Rania al-Naji, a rising star in the field of sports.
