‘Best Growing Full-Size SUV’ accolade for GAC’s GS8

The GAC GS8, exclusively distributed in Qatar by Doha Marketing Services Company (Domasco), won the ‘Best Growing Full-Size SUV’ Award at the Golden Steering Wheel Awards (GSWA) ceremony held recently at the Al Enna quad tracks in Sealine, Doha.Organised by ‘Arab Motors Middle East’ and ‘XTORK’, every winning vehicle was rigorously tested for a period of three months and were evaluated against five key criteria: performance, overall exterior and interior design, safety, off-road capabilities and technological advancements. “The award received by GS8 highlights Domasco’s objectives to offer quality vehicles through quality-oriented global brands,” explained Faisal Sharif, managing director of Domasco. “The GAC GS8 is one of GAC Motor’s flagship SUVs. Indeed, GAC Motor has consistently been the highest ranked Chinese brand for six consecutive years.”The GS8 high-end SUV is powered by GAC Motor’s golden dynamic Ti POWER 320T engine and six-speed automatic gearbox, Domasco has said in a statement. By applying the Chinese company’s second generation i-4WD 2.0 four-wheel drive system, the GS8 offers a powerful yet smooth ride across six driving modes: sandy roads, muddy roads, snowy roads, intelligent auto, sports and Eco. It also applies the latest Bosch electronic stability programme, 9.1 (ESP 9.1), which improves the car’s stability by detecting and reducing the loss of traction (skidding).The GS8’s matrix-type LED headlights and U-shaped taillights generate a deep, multi-layered lighting effect and combine for an aggressive yet calm aesthetic, while the elegantly simple interior adopts a seven-seat, three-row layout and an ultra-size panoramic sunroof.
